Luz M. Molina
Clinical Professor & Director

Email: wccnola@gmail.com

J.D., 1979 Tulane University School of Law

Professor Molina is the Jack Nelson Distinguished Professor of Law at Loyola College of Law, where she has been a Clinical Professor for over 20 years. In her clinic section, Workplace Justice Project, Prof. Molina supervises student practitioners in litigating labor and employment issues for clients who enter through the WJP’s Wage Claim Clinic.

In addition to her work at the WJP, Prof. Molina works with the Access to Justice Committee of the Louisiana State Bar Association to bring systemic changes to the law and the legal profession, particularly as they relate to issues affecting individuals who face barriers in accessing the justice system in civil matters. Prof. Molina serves as the Reporter for the Louisiana State Law Institute Unpaid Wages Committee, which examines how state law can provide efficient and effective protection for workers and employers.

She is motivated by the notion that every human being has essential human rights which must be upheld. Her work is inspired by the words of Eleanor Roosevelt: “Where, after all, do universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home – so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any maps of the world. Yet they are the world of the individual person, the neighborhood he lives in; the school or college he attends; the factory, farm, or office where he works. Such are the places where every man, woman and child seeks equal justice, equal opportunity, equal dignity without discrimination. Unless these rights have meaning there, they have little meaning anywhere. Without concerted citizen action, to uphold them, close to home, we shall look in vain for progress in the larger world.”
